Sixty years, who can imagine? That's a long time to say the least so we celebrated in style. We went to Adair for Jesse James Days and to have a big family supper.
In the afternoon we watched Brady participate in sand volleyball, Aunt Vicky and Dad threw water balloons at each other and we found the best seats in town for the parade, Grandma and Grandpa's front lawn.
Tyler wasn't able to watch the parade with us because he was in it. That's his boom truck for his business Cornerstone Landscaping which I am proud to say I now have a coozie with their logo.
Thanks Ty!
Traffic had been backed up for quite some time waiting for the parade to end. This is the parade after the parade. The boys pulled up there lawn chairs to get the semis to honk as they went by. I guess you're never too old for some things.
That evening we ate at The Redwoods in Anita for supper. We had a great time. There was a lot of reminiscing and story telling. There's never a dull moment when the Carney boys are around. We capped the night off with an appearance at the street dance.
Not appearing in the blog is Grandma and Grandpa Morris but we did get to spend a fare amount of time with them as well. We managed to squeeze in 27 holes of golf. Going down to golf with them is something we've always talked about but hadn't found the time to do in the past. I'm glad we were able to fit it in to our long weekend. Also thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for letting us stay at their place this weekend.
We're looking forward to the next family visit down to Southern Iowa. Thanks for a great time everybody!
